How Did I Get Here…
How Did I Get Here…
Over the past few years, I’ve had a great opportunity of working at two different design firms, both of which were incredibly valuable experiences that helped shape the path I’m on today.
My first job taught me the business, I learned the vendors, how things work and beyond. I loved learning and working there and I went to work so happy every single day and I’m grateful for that. While I gained a lot from this role, it became clear that my passion was in the creative side of design, not sales. Unfortunately, that wasn’t an option there, so I knew it was time to move on.
The second job was a completely different experience. As an independent contractor, I took on clients and projects from start to finish, managing every detail. It was in this role that I realized I could do this!! But it was a small commission job that I knew I should’ve not stayed there any longer for mostly financial reasons. I’m so grateful for the opportunity because It gave me the confidence to take the leap.
But the biggest reason I decided to step out on my own is:
My clients. Almost every client I’ve had—whether on my own or while working with other firms—started with a single room and ended up asking me to help with multiple spaces.
They enjoyed the process and trusted me to bring their vision to life for more projects, and that gave me the confidence I needed.
Take, for example, my Tingerwood project. It started as a dark, moody office, but I ended up designing the master bedroom, living room, and now, the sitting room.
Or my Oak Brook project, which began as a small living room furnishing and turned into a full whole house furnishing, dining room, master bedroom, guest bedroom.
My Batavia project started as a living room, but I ended up designing two offices, the dining room, and more.
So here I am—confident, passionate, and ready to pour my heart and soul into my work.
I’m beyond excited for what’s next, and I can’t wait to see where this journey takes me.
See you next week.

Here Comes Seda Piazza Design…
It’s been quite the journey, and I’m excited to finally take this leap and put myself out there. Over the past few years, I’ve had the privilege of working in various spaces that have helped me learn, grow, and sharpen my skills. While I’ve gained invaluable experience working under some amazing teams, I’ve always felt like I had my own voice, my own vision for creating beautiful spaces that feel truly personal.
These last 3–4 years have shown me that I’m capable of more than I ever thought. Not only can I do this—I absolutely love doing it! There’s something incredibly fulfilling about bringing design dreams to life, and that passion only continues to grow.
Now, I’m stepping into this new chapter with so much excitement. I want to give a huge thanks to my family, friends, and especially my clients. Your support and encouragement have been the driving force behind this moment, and I’m endlessly grateful.
I can’t wait to share more of my journey with you here on the blog every week.
Stay tuned for all the stories, inspiration, and insights coming your way!
